Wood – the material of the 21st century
Woodworking and forestry for material and construction needs in an innovative economy
The role of wood and forestry in the modern economy is essential and multidimensional, covering aspects related to the production and use of raw materials, taking into account the need for environmental protection and sustainable development. Forestry provides a valuable raw material such as wood, which is used in architectural structures and furniture making and for further processing into wood based products, paper, or composites. In the face of the need for ecological transformation and sustainable development, wood is a rational choice as a construction or finishing material. New technologies make it possible to create more durable and functional materials. An innovative approach to wood and forestry, based on scientific research, is an essential step in building an economy of the future that will be innovative and, above all, eco-innovative. Sustainable management of forest resources, providing wood as a raw material, is the key to preserving biodiversity and protecting ecosystems, which is necessary for maintaining a well-functioning natural environment.
